Great post except...

You didn't actually read mine it seems.

It's not about Foursquare, I mentioned it once as an example. The subject of my post is about the new Twitter LOCALTrending feature they're releasing. It's in the titlle.

Our location is a determinant of what we are doing and why. It's simply fact. I didn't say it had to be shouted to the world, but was instead talking about our tech that does it more discreetly.

And my next quote? Yep. About the LOCAL TRENDS. And you can follow/block From the stream whomever you like. That's what's great about Twitter.

The geolocation I referred to in my last quote... Or geotagging, is NOT Foursquare. It's a little checkbox under settings, in every account, that allows tracking where you tweeted from. It doesn't announce anything, it's simply in the hidden metadata of your tweet.

I personally have a lot of issues with Foursquare too, it can be a flawed game (although my stream doesn't get so polluted). It was simply an example of an LBS, not nearly the topic of the post, but I'm happy to see other people getting passionate about things.

Have a great weekend! :)
