My only reccomendation is to remove your favorites from your favorite list PRIOR to syncing your contacts to your google account. All of my contacts transferred to the google account except the ones that were also in the favorite list....don't remove them from your contact list, just remove them from the favorite list. The iPhone calendar and the google calendar now sync great and anytime I add an entry to either one, it automatically syncs to the other. I tried this and it works.
